Product Description
Today, there is a great deal of emphasis on the mystical and intangible nature of relationships but very little emphasis on the real, practical steps involved in building an enduring love. In contrast, authors Ben Young and Sam Adams place great importance on the value of spiritual compatibility in Devotions for Dating Couples.
Designed especially for highly committed or engaged couples, it helps readers:
Each of the nine sections includes Scripture quotations, suggested meditation passages, and discussion questions, as well as anecdotes from real people including the authors. Intended as an eight-week study, weekday devotions are to be completed by both individuals, and each weekend study is to be completed together as a couple.

I first learned about this book from a guy who was reading each chapter the same day his fiancee (across the states) did. They called or texted each other every night about it. I ordered it for another couple who just got engaged. The text is honest, solid, and gives lots of Bible references to back it up or to think about. It's set so usually each person reads on the five week days, then discusses it with their partner on Saturday, then they go to church together on Sunday. This gives a built-in accountability.
Kathryn Jameson Said: Great Devotional ( May. 16th 2010 )
This book has been great for my fiance and I. Our Pastor recommended it to us when we got engaged and we love it. This devotional as really been a great relationship builder with God and with each other. Make sure you buy one for each of you as you do most of your devotional time just between you and God and come together at the end of each week and draw close to God TOGETHER.... Believe me you guys will fall in love with each other MORE and draw closer to God more... It's a great tool. Planning on getting the devotional for my brother and his girlfriend.
BenMVP Said: Good devotional with a slight relationship tilt ( Dec. 23rd 2009 )
Don't get me wrong, the devotional itself was good, but my girlfriend & I were looking for something that would be more relationship-focused. In my opinion, it was as if they took a good devotional and sprinkled in some dating-related topics. Only Week #8 on Purity had a significant relationship focused.
So for those couples looking for something to start with in order to began reading the Word & praying together, I would suggest this book. For couples that already have that practice in place and are looking for more spiritual insights into your dating life, I'd recommend Before You Get Engaged

K. Fu Said: Applicable for Every type of Couple ( Sep. 15th 2009 )
My boyfriend and I have been using this book for the last 1.5 months and we have really learned a lot. I think what makes this book different from a lot of other couples devotional books is that they stress that each individual needs to be strong in their own walks with God before their relationship can be centered around God.
The book goes spends a week focused on different characteristics of God that we should exhibit in our daily lives through every type of relationship with people. Then at the end of the week, it directs us to meet with our opposite to talk about how we can push each other to grow and how we can exhibit that same quality to each other as well as others. I think it's really important to be able to be strong individually and then as a couple.
The book was great and I'll look for more from this author in this style.
